Courtesy smiles

I should be writing a talk now or something...

I'm going to bring up a topic that I've been wanting to discuss with you guys. (yes you.)

THE COURTESY SMILE/HELLO

Oh, the courtesy smile. Every one's courtesy smile is the same. The polite, tight lipped, no teeth smile. Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. It's so weird that everyone does that. No matter if your at the grocery store, you make awkward eye contact with the person next you at a red light, or you are walking down the hall at school. Weird.
The courtesy hello is also weird. Have you ever noticed that when someone asks you "how are you doing?" you most always say "good"? I can be having the absolute worst day of my life and I would still say I am doing good. It's not like I'm going to explain what all my problems are to someone who doesn't really care that much.

Ok that didn't make any sense. I'm sick give me a break. Bye.

Ha ha. Your family is the only family where most members feel extremely comfortable answering "fair" when asked how they are. Hellooooo!

I love your posts girl! I frequently wonder about the art stuff too. Like who decided that disproportional people with a square face and one arm, etc is art? Beats me!

Dear artist Bashers in a sense,

the whole point of having a red dot in the middle of a yellow canvas is to signify that anything CAN be art. It's simplistic, yet complex. The whole point of art is to create something unique and new, and if that is unique and new, so be it! I think what the artist was trying to portray is that not all art has to be some insane unachievable goal. Art is accomplishable by anyone, and being able to understand that is an art within itsself.

And dissproportionate bodies with one arm? Read my blog. I rarely put limbs on the characters I create. I'm offended!! {except not.}

Love your posts as always, Lex
