Wowza long time no see. (I really need to stop saying that).
But guys really it has been a long time...? Do people still use blogger....?!!??
Anyway. LETS DO THIS.
1. THE WAR. I am so into WW2 right now. I have been watching Ken Burns: The War (its on Netflix wink wink) and re-reading the Children of the Promise books. And listening to a lot of 1940's music. (OMG I AM SO HIPSTER). But really I'm loving it lately.
Watching the war has really got me thinking about survival. These people had to SURVIVE through so much. Whether they were a POW or a nurse in the navy they were troopers (paratroopers..?? pun intended).
As most of you know I have a mission call to Guatemala and I leave Oct 2. To answer any questions YES the thought of living there scared me and YES the thought of learning spanish scared me. BUT the more I read/watch about WW2 the more I realize I don't just have to survive this mission like the soldiers did. I get to go help people and teach them about the church. I get to learn spanish. I get to do this and there won't be Nazi's trying to kill me or I won't be a Japanese American in a prison camp. I get to go so why was I scared? I got too caught up in what scared me that I forgot why I am going! I am going because I love God and I love the church, and I am not scared anymore (I'm actually freakin' excited!!) because I can do hard things... and that realization, my friends, is an August favorite.
^^My legitimate reaction when I first saw Guatemala. haha!^^
2. (Future missionary alert *warning* *warning* *warning*)
4. James Taylor last night (yeah yeah I know it is technically in Sept... but whatever). Oh my heck. I love him so much. Always have, always will. I was pretty much in tears from the moment he got on stage to the last song. Not in like a gross fangirl kind of way though. His music means so much to me, and to sit there in between my parents listening to him sing with MoTab meant the world. When I put in my mission papers I secretly hoped I would leave after he came. Dreams come true everyone.
5. I have a new favorite YOUTUBE video. It's only a minute long... but trust me you can spare a minute for this gem.
THAT LAST LADY am I right?
Ok well I love you all and you have a good one, ya hear?
